Akinwande's Version

It all began in Q2 2023, when I sent her my first message.

Are you wondering where? I actually matched with her on Hinge. I liked that she had her cultural attire on in her profile pic. It's not the kind of thing you come across regularly when you're scrolling, so it really caught my attention.

It actually took her about four and a half days to get back to me. I was checking my phone, but once she finally replied, we hit it off immediately. The conversation just flowed, nothing felt forced, it was just really easy to talk to her.

We shared some interests, sure, but the reality is we just vibed in a way that felt super rare. It just made sense. And clearly it still does, considering the ridiculous amount of miles I've logged and oceans I've crossed since then just to show up at her door.

What started as a simple message has turned into something truly meaningful. Our story has been shaped by fate, courage, and a deep connection that has kept unfolding with the same passion and intensity, no matter the distance. Our love story is till infinity ♾️

Omotola's Version

It all began in 2023. I was about to give up on my quest for love when I got a message from a handsome man on Hinge, a dating app!

At first, I was reluctant to reply, as I thought him too tall for me, but looking back, I'm very grateful I did! Besides, I enjoy wearing heels 😄

We got to talking, and I felt like I had known him forever. We quickly moved from the dating app to WhatsApp, and from there to FaceTime calls, where we got to know each other for hours on end. Our conversations flowed effortlessly, talking to Akinwande felt like the most natural thing in the world.

When we finally met in person, the connection was undeniable. The chemistry that had blossomed over the phone only grew stronger, making it clear that we were meant to be. Long distance hasn't been easy, but Akinwande makes every day worth it. I'm really excited to embark on this next stage of our love story by the grace of God ❤️

A few small things

Who made the first move, and how did it happen?: Akinwande made the first move by texting me. A few days later, it felt like we knew each other a lifetime.
What's the best meal you've shared together?: Any meal we've cooked together — the love makes the food taste sweet!
What's the most memorable trip you've taken together?: We visited North Macedonia last year. It was absolutely incredible! It's an amazing location, and we would love to go again someday.
We're on the same page about: Our faith — God is the centre of our relationship and He is the one who led us to each other!
We are regulars at: The airport! A long distance relationship requires a lot of flights to and fro. Other than that, we really like a restaurant called Marco Polo — it's our favourite.
Where did you first meet in person?: Greece, in 2023 — where Tola was still fairly sure she was being catfished.
